Why Hand-Drawn Artwork Matters

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.

What started as filling sketchbooks as a kid eventually became a career designing for some of Australia's biggest fashion brands. Every illustration, every collection and every job has helped shape the way I create today. In many ways, I've been perfecting my craft my whole life.

That's why I still choose to draw by hand.

I love the imperfections that come with it. A slightly uneven line, the texture of a pencil sketch or a curve that isn't mathematically perfect. Those little details are what make artwork feel human.

To me, perfection isn't the goal. Character is.

Every illustration tells the story of the hands that created it. It reflects years of practice, curiosity and experimentation. Those imperfections are a reminder that there is a real artist behind every design.

When you wear Sea Street, you're wearing something that started as a sketch on paper. Something that has been thoughtfully illustrated, refined and crafted with care.

In a world that's becoming increasingly automated, I think there's something special about holding onto the human side of creativity. That's something I'll never stop doing.
